[:en]As the agency involved in the implementation of the APAEC (ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation), ACE takes a role as a regional knowledge centre, catalyst, and think tank. AGEP Phase II, a jointly implemented programme between ACE and GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), supports ACE in strengthening its roles through three areas of cooperation:
- innovative services to promote sustainable energy
- collection and digital processing of socio-economic and energy-specific data in AMS (ASEAN Member States)
- plan and actions for organisational development.
At the policy level, AGEP Phase II supports ASEAN Centre for Energy and ASEAN Member States in accelerating the region’s energy transition through multi-stakeholder dialogues on RE/EE, development of ASEAN energy outlooks and other energy studies, and improvement of collection and digital processing of socio-economic and energy-specific data in AMS.
At the implementation level, AGEP Phase II supports strengthening ACE in its role as a regional centre of excellence for sustainable energy through organisational development activities, such as, providing interdisciplinary training courses, development of business plan and key performance index, capacity development on data collection, processing, and modelling.
