SETI Support to Industry

Sustainable Energy Transition in Indonesia (SETI) is a program that focuses on improving the sustainable energy transition ecosystem and decarbonization through developing integrated sustainable energy policies, piloting scalable and innovative demonstrations for industry and the built environment, and creating an innovative and applicable financing scheme to accelerate energy transition practices in Indonesia. SETI is implemented through a consortium of implementing partners: GIZ, WRI Indonesia, IESR, and Yayasan Indonesia Cerah. Anchored with The Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (DJ EBTKE) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), SETI works with different energy-related political partners, including the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and others.

Our focus on the industrial sector is based on the understanding that industrial decarbonization is vital. Not only is it crucial in curbing national emissions, as the industry contributes to 21.46% of the total emissions in 2019, but it also has the potential to reshape our production and consumption patterns to be more efficient and sustainable in the long run. Hence, to accelerate the achievement of industrial decarbonization, we have designed our interventions to assist industries in transitioning their energy use.

SETI’s support for selected industries includes a variety of pipeline activities: a series of capacity development activities aimed at raising awareness and imparting know-how for implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions; support energy management; technical assistance to develop energy transition strategies at the company level; support in assessing the feasibility and viability of these strategies through energy audits and pre-feasibility studies; assistance in piloting and implementation; and the creation of knowledge products relevant to energy transition insights for industries.

The program is free of charge.
