Kick-off Workshop for the Update of Indonesia’s Energy Sector Net-Zero Emission (NZE) Roadmap 🔔

🌏 Indonesia, home to 280+ million people and Southeast Asia’s largest economy, has set bold climate and development ambitions: from achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision with 8% economic growth 📈 to committing to significant emissions reductions under its Enhanced NDCs. The energy sector will play a decisive role, contributing over one-third of total planned greenhouse gas reductions by 2030. 🌿⚡

On 13 August 2025, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), through the Directorate General of New Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (DG NREEC), in collaboration with GIZ Indonesia’s Energy Hub, officially kicked off the process to update Indonesia’s Net-Zero Emission (NZE) Energy Roadmap.

The Kick-Off Workshop brought together policymakers, researchers and think tanks, and experts to exchange insights and provide constructive feedback. This collaborative process ensures the roadmap is practical, inclusive, and aligned with national strategies such as the draft of KEN and Second-NDCs (S-NDCs), RUKN 2025 – 2060, RPJPN 2025–2045, and RPJMN 2025–2029.

💡👉 Our collaboration is set to continue, with further plans to consolidate the feedback received and translate it into our development process. We look forward to working with all stakeholders in the next phase.
